Her research efforts are focused on the molecular biology of brain tumors, gene therapy, immunotherapy, and brain cancer vaccines.<br>Dr Liau\u7684\u81e8\u5e8a\u5c08\u696d\u5728\u624b\u8853\u4e2d\u529f\u80fd\u6027\u5927\u8166\u6620\u5c04\u53ca\u5229\u7528\u5927\u8166\u6620\u5c04\u65bc\u8166\u816b\u7624\u4e4b\u5207\u9664\u3002\u5979\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u805a\u7126\u5728\u8166\u816b\u7624\u7684\u5206\u5b50\u751f\u7269\u5b78\u3001\u57fa\u56e0\u7642\u6cd5\u3001\u514d\u75ab\u7642\u6cd5\u53ca\u8166\u764c\u75ab\u82d7\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction \/ <\/strong><strong>\u7c21\u4ecb<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognized for her expertise in complicated tumor surgery, Liau attracts patients from around the world and has performed more than 2,000 brain tumor surgeries. Her research has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health for the past two decades, and she has written more than 230 research articles, along with several book chapters and textbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also is a trailblazer in her specialty: Just 6 percent of licensed neurosurgeons in the U.S. are female, and Liau is only the second woman in the nation \u2014 and the first Asian-American woman \u2014 to lead an academic department of neurosurgery.
