Kiang<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important experience \/ \u91cd\u8981\u7d93\u6b77<\/strong><br>Physical Scientist, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS)<br>\u7f8e\u570b\u570b\u5bb6\u822a\u7a7a\u66a8\u592a\u7a7a\u7e3d\u7f72\u6208\u9054\u5fb7\u592a\u7a7a\u7814\u7a76\u6240\u7269\u8cea\u79d1\u5b78\u5bb6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research Areas \/ <\/strong><strong>\u7814\u7a76\u7bc4\u7587<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earth System Science, biosphere-atmosphere interactions, terrestrial ecosystem dynamics, biogeochemistry, biophysics, photosynthesis, astrobiology, climate modeling, computer modeling <br>\u5730\u7403\u7cfb\u7d71\u79d1\u5b78\u3001\u751f\u7269\u5708-\u5927\u6c23\u4ea4\u4e92\u4f5c\u7528\u3001\u9678\u751f\u751f\u614b\u7cfb\u52d5\u529b\u5b78\u3001\u751f\u7269\u5730\u7403\u5316\u5b78\u3001\u751f\u7269\u7269\u7406\u5b78\u3001\u5149\u5408\u4f5c\u7528\u3001\u5929\u6587\u751f\u7269\u5b78\u3001\u6c23\u5019\u6a21\u5f0f\u3001\u96fb\u8166\u6a21\u5f0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction \/ <\/strong><strong>\u7c21\u4ecb<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Kiang is an Earth System scientist and astrobiologist.&nbsp; She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Stanford University in 1988, and after working at Hewlett-Packard, she obtained her PhD in Biometeorology at the University of California at Berkeley in 2002.&nbsp; At the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, she conducts research on the interactions between the biosphere and the atmosphere, focusing on life on land. Through photosynthesis and the evapotranspiration of water from plant leaves, seasonal cycles of growth and decay, and occasional big events like fires, the biosphere on Earth exchanges heat, water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and many other compounds with the atmosphere. These exchanges result in the biosphere actively controlling the climate, chemistry, and spectral properties of the Earth. Dr. Kiang also relates this work to research in astrobiology, particularly with regard to how photosynthetic activity produces signs of life at the global scale (e.g., biogenic gases like oxygen and photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll). She studies how these may exhibit adaptations to alternative environments on extrasolar planets, resulting in other \u201cbiosignatures\u201d that might be detected by space telescopes. Her work includes computer simulation modeling of vegetation dynamics coupled to atmospheric general circulation models (GCMs), occasional fieldwork, and theoretical and lab studies on the thermodynamic efficiency of photon energy use in photosynthesis.&nbsp;&nbsp; For fun, Dr. Kiang also enjoys hiking, art, and filmmaking, and has directed some award-winning short films exploring the nature of personal identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u6c5f\u535a\u58eb\u662f\u5730\u7403\u7cfb\u7d71\u79d1\u5b78\u5bb6\u53ca\u5929\u6587\u751f\u7269\u5b78\u5bb6\u3002\u5979\u65bc1988\u5e74\u7372\u5f97\u53f2\u4e39\u4f5b\u5927\u5b78 \u8a08\u7b97\u6a5f\u79d1\u5b78\u7406\u5b78\u5b78\u58eb\uff0c\u7562\u696d\u5f8c\u65bc\u60e0\u666e(Hewlett-Packard)\u5de5\u4f5c\u3002\u5979\u65bc2002\u5e74\u7372\u5f97\u52a0\u5229\u798f\u5c3c\u4e9e\u5927\u5b78\u67cf\u514b\u840a\u5206\u6821\u751f\u7269\u6c23\u8c61\u5b78\u535a\u58eb\u3002\u5979\u76ee\u524d\u65bc\u7f8e\u570b\u570b\u5bb6\u822a\u7a7a\u66a8\u592a\u7a7a\u7e3d\u7f72\u6208\u9054\u5fb7\u592a\u7a7a\u7814\u7a76\u6240\u4efb\u8077\uff0c\u81f4\u529b\u7814\u7a76\u751f\u7269\u5708\u8207\u5927\u6c23\u7684\u4ea4\u4e92\u4f5c\u7528\uff0c\u4e26\u805a\u7126\u5728\u9678\u4e0a\u751f\u547d\u3002\u900f\u904e\u690d\u7269\u8449\u5b50\u4e2d\u7684\u5149\u5408\u4f5c\u7528\u53ca\u84b8\u767c\u6563\u3001\u751f\u9577\u53ca\u8870\u8b8a\u7684\u5b63\u7bc0\u5468\u671f\u3001\u5076\u767c\u7684\u5927\u4e8b\u4ef6\u5982\u5927\u706b\uff0c\u5730\u7403\u751f\u7269\u5708\u7684\u71b1\u80fd\u3001\u6c34\u6c23\u3001\u4e8c\u6c27\u5316\u78b3\u3001\u7532\u70f7\u3001\u6c2e\u7b49\u8f49\u63db\u6210\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u5f62\u5f0f\u53ca\u5316\u5408\u7269\uff0c\u4e26\u63a7\u5236\u8457\u5730\u7403\u7684\u6c23\u5019\u3001\u5316\u5b78\u53ca\u8b5c\u6027\u8cea\u3002 \u6c5f\u535a\u58eb\u628a\u9019\u4e9b\u7814\u7a76\u8207\u592a\u7a7a\u751f\u7269\u5b78\u806f\u7e6b\uff0c\u7279\u5225\u662f\u5149\u5408\u4f5c\u7528\u5982\u4f55\u5728\u5168\u7403\u5c3a\u5ea6\u4e2d\u7522\u751f\u751f\u547d\u8de1\u8c61\uff0c\u53ca\u9019\u4e9b\u5982\u4f55\u9069\u61c9\u7cfb\u5916\u884c\u661f\u7684\u66ff\u4ee3\u74b0\u5883\uff0c\u6210\u70ba\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u751f\u547d\u5370\u8de1\uff0c\u4e26\u6709\u53ef\u80fd\u88ab\u592a\u7a7a\u671b\u9060\u93e1\u6240\u5075\u6e2c\u3002\u5979\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5305\u62ec\u9023\u63a5\u690d\u7269\u4ea4\u4e92\u4f5c\u7528\u7684\u96fb\u8166\u6a21\u64ec\u6a21\u578b\u8207\u5927\u6c23\u74b0\u6d41\u6a21\u5f0f\uff0c\u9032\u884c\u5149\u5408\u4f5c\u7528\u4e2d\u5149\u5b50\u80fd\u7684\u71b1\u529b\u6548\u80fd\u7684\u7530\u91ce\u8abf\u67e5\u53ca\u7406\u8ad6\u7814\u7a76\u3002\u800c\u4f5c\u70ba\u8208\u8da3\uff0c\u6c5f\u535a\u58eb\u4eab\u53d7\u4e26\u559c\u611b\u9060\u8db3\u3001\u85dd\u8853\u3001\u5f71\u7247\u88fd\u4f5c\uff0c\u5979\u66fe\u88fd\u4f5c\u5e7e\u90e8\u4ee5\u63a2\u7d22\u500b\u4eba\u8a8d\u540c\u7684\u672c\u8cea\u70ba\u4e3b\u8ef8\u7684\u5f97\u734e\u77ed\u7247\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>More about the speaker \/ <\/strong><strong>\u66f4\u591a\u95dc\u65bc\u8b1b\u8005<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.giss.nasa.gov\/staff\/nkiang.html\">https:\/\/www.giss.nasa.gov\/staff\/nkiang.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u6c5f\u8000\u862d\u535a\u58eb Dr. Nancy Y.
