The other was studying how people learn to think about physics and finding better ways to teach them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students learn more effectively, Wieman found, when they practice and receive feedback on making particular decisions using the knowledge and skills of their respective disciplines. \u201cI\u2019ve come to see education fundamentally as a way for people to learn to make better decisions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advocating for \u201ca scientific approach to teaching science,\u201d he urges STEM professors to apply the same principles in teaching that they use in their research.
