Introduction / 簡介
Zhuo Wang is a professor in the Department of Climate, Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences (CLiMAS) at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests are primarily in the fields of tropical meteorology and climate dynamics, including tropical cyclones, intraseasonal variability, tropical-extratropical interaction, subseasonal to decadal prediction and predictability, and extreme events. Her research objective is to better understand the fundamental dynamics and physics governing atmospheric motions and to improve the prediction skills.
Prof. Wang currently serves as the chief editor for the Journal of Atmospheric Sciences and co-chair of the WMO Working Group on Tropical Meteorology Research (TMR). She also co-chairs a working group under the WCRP Lighthouse Activity (LHA) “Explaining and Predicting Earth System Change (EPESC)”. She has previously served as the chair of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Committee on Tropical Meteorology and Tropical Cyclones, and as co-chair of the US CLIVAR PPAI panel.
